44th Annual Valley Visual Art Show

In an effort to professionally exhibit artwork in our gallery space, we will only be able to accommodate about 50 artworks (one work per artist) in our upcoming 44th Annual Valley Visual Art Show (opening Friday, January 20, 2023) on a LOTTERY-BASED entry system (into which you will be entered upon completing this registration). INFO YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT YOUR 2 ENTRIES:
Title, Medium, Dimensions (wall-hanging works not to exceed 30"H x 30"W including frame, pedestal works not to exceed 75"H x 24"W x 24"D), and Price (keep in mind the 25% commission).

Images will be required with your submission for the jurying process upon completing this registration. Email images as jpeg attachments (5MB or less) to brian@carbondalearts.com. High resolution images are preferred for marketing purposes and for display in our online shop.

Entry fee: $25 required to enter the lottery. Fee will be refunded within 30 days if you are not selected in the lottery.
Carbondale Arts Membership (you may register online). Required to participate and DUE UPON WINNING the lottery.
Please note: joining or renewing your membership before the lottery will not increase your chances of winning, but is always a good way to support Carbondale Arts!
 

IMPORTANT DATES & DEADLINES

Tuesday, October 25
Online registration for the lottery goes live at 10am. We ask all artists to register online, and can assist with registration at The Launchpad from 10am-5pm weekdays.

Monday, December 5
Lottery registration ends promptly at 11:59pm (in person registration closes at 5pm that day)

Friday, December 9
Notification sent by email to all who entered the lottery. Lottery winners will also be notified by email regarding which of their 2 entries is accepted.

Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, January 11, 12, & 13
Artwork delivery between 10am & 5pm any of those days, no appointment needed

Friday, January 20
Opening reception; artists encouraged to attend, 5-7pm
A virtual tour of the gallery will be made available, and each artwork will be available for purchase via our online shop.

January 20 - February 23
Exhibition dates (gallery open weekdays 10am-5pm)

Friday, February 24
Artist pick up between 9:00am and 5:00pm

ELIGIBILITY
The 44th Annual Valley Visual Art Show (VVAS) is open to all artists (who must become current members of Carbondale Arts upon acceptance) and reside in an ‘816XX’ zip code. Carbondale Arts several levels of memberships which may be paid online, over the phone, or in person at The Launchpad upon winning the VVAS lottery. There is no age restriction to participate in this show, though artists under the age of 18 should have parental/guardian consent.

All submitted artwork for the Valley Visual Art Show must be original (no giclée reproductions, please!), for sale, created within the last 12 months, and not previously shown at Carbondale Arts' Gallery. Accepted work which differs significantly from the submitted images will be disqualified from the show.

SUBMISSIONS & SIZE RESTRICTIONS
Two (2) pieces MUST be submitted for consideration and one (1) work will be selected from each artist who is selected in the VVAS lottery. Wall-hanging works may not exceed 30"H x 30"W including frame. Pedestal works may not exceed 75"H x 24"W x 24"D. Digital images must be sent to brian@carbondalearts.com after completing the registration. High resolution images are preferred and are more likely to be used for marketing purposes.

FEES & COMMISSION
A $25 entry fee (due at time of registration). A current Carbondale Arts membership is required (upon receiving acceptance notification). Carbondale Arts retains a 25% commission on all sales made during the Valley Visual Art Show.

DISPLAY REQUIREMENTS
All work must be gallery ready. Framed wall-hanging artwork should have a wire or D-rings on the back. All artwork must have label information securely attached upon delivery, including artist name, title, medium, and price. 

ARTIST BIO, INFO & IMAGES OF WORK
Email a current digital biography or artist statement after completing this online entry form. Images of your artwork submissions should be sent as a .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .pdf at the highest resolution possible to brian@carbondalearts.com.
