Breathe with Oniya: Learning about the Bison

Campers will engage in several hands-on activities that explore the various benefits of having bison flourish in their native habitat, including: soil health, local horticulture, biodiversity, traditional / cultural influences, and mindful practices. Projects will be art-based and interdisciplinary, allowing learning about  natural and social sciences to be fun and exciting!

Based on the book, “Breathe, Bison”, children will meet Oniya, a young bison who loses its way, and eventually transforms sadness into hope and grace. Come and be a part of a joyful group of kids, ages 4-10.  All camp participants will receive their own copy of the book.

Los campistas participan en varias actividades prácticas qué exploran los diversos beneficios de qué los bisontes prosperen en su hábitat natural, entre ellos: la salud del suelo, la horticultura local, la biodiversidad, las influencias tradicionales y culturales y las prácticas conscientes. Los proyectos se basarán en el arte y serán interdisciplinarios, lo que permitirá que el aprendizaje sobre ciencias naturales y sociales sean divertidas y emocionantes.

Basados en el libro, ¨Breathe, Bison¨, los niños conocerán a Oniya, un joven bisonte qué pierde el rumbo y, con el tiempo se transforma la tristeza y la esperanza y gracia. Ven y forma parte de un alegre grupo de niños de entre 4 y 10 años. Todos los participantes del campamento recibirán su propia copia del libro.
